Stained Glass Windows at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Rowesville, SC

in 2016, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (14) new opalescent glass windows at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Rowesville, SC, which is located in Orangeburg County. The twelve main windows (size 36" wide x 80"high) each contained a 12" round Biblical scene and a memorial plate. The two shorter windows (size 36" wide x 72"high) contained a 12" round Biblical scene and memorial plate as well.

The installation for these windows were a little different, but not uncommon for many churches. Laws removed existing vinyl frame windows and installed into the existing wood frames. On the outside, the brick opening is a round top shape, but on the inside, the window is square. This happens sometimes when churches are bricked at a later date. To accommodate, Laws made a window design that would match the round top shape on the outside.

On the outside of the window, Laws covered the outside wood frame from the springline down with white aluminum flashing. 1/4" Lucite acrylic was installed as the protective covering and was held in place with two rows of 1/2" x 1/2" white aluminum stop.
